Al-MUKALLA – Presidential Leadership Council Member and Governor of Hadhramaut, Salem Al-Khanbashi, met today in Mukalla with the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mutee Dammaj, to discuss ways to revitalize the tourism sector and enhance cultural activity in Hadhramaut.

The meeting, attended by a number of deputy ministers, deputy governors, and officials, reviewed the efforts made by the local authority to ensure the success of the Al-Balad Tourism Season Festival. The festival includes cultural, entertainment, sports, and heritage programs and activities that attract visitors from various governorates.

Discussions also covered developing tourism infrastructure, preserving historical and heritage sites, and encouraging investment in the tourism sector.

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi stressed the importance of supporting efforts aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and highlighting Hadhramaut’s unique tourism, cultural, and heritage assets. He noted that this contributes to local economic development and strengthens the governorate’s position as a national tourism and cultural destination.

For his part, the Minister of Culture and Tourism praised the growing tourism and cultural momentum in Hadhramaut, and commended the local authority’s efforts in organizing the Al-Balad Season. He described it as a successful model for stimulating domestic tourism and introducing people to the governorate’s civilizational and cultural heritage. The Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives and programs that contribute to the development of the tourism and cultural sectors.
