ADEN – Minister of Culture and Tourism and Head of the Tourism Promotion Board, Mutee Dammaj, chaired a meeting in Aden with hotel managers and representatives of hotel associations to discuss plans for developing the hospitality sector and boosting tourism investment.
The meeting, attended by Ministry undersecretaries Jaafar Abubaker, Hussein Al-Sakkab, and Obaid Al-Hadha, addressed key challenges facing hotel facilities and outlined government efforts to revitalize Yemen’s tourism industry.
Minister Dammaj stressed the ministry’s commitment to resolving obstacles for hotels and tourism establishments to improve the investment climate, raise service quality, and accelerate growth in the hospitality sector.
The hotel sector is one of Yemen’s most promising economic drivers,” Dammaj said. “Upgrading services and investing in staff training will directly enhance the appeal of Aden and Yemen as tourist destinations.
The minister confirmed that the Ministry has begun coordinating with the Community College to launch training and qualification programs tailored to the tourism and hotel labor market, aligned with professional standards.
He also highlighted plans to stimulate cultural and tourism activity through a series of tourism, cultural, and arts festivals aimed at raising awareness of Yemen’s heritage and showcasing Aden and other governorates as attractive destinations.
Hotel managers and association representatives raised operational challenges currently affecting service levels and outlined proposals to support sector growth.
