Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shaya'a Mohsen Al-Zindani, received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Yemen, Patrick Simonnet, today in the interim capital, Aden.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Grim Kamoun, they discussed the latest regional and international developments and their impact on the situation in Yemen, the government's efforts to address current challenges, and ways to strengthen partnership and coordination with the international community.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reviewed the government's priorities for the current phase, foremost among them establishing security and stability, improving basic services, continuing the reform process and strengthening institutional work, and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of citizens. He emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the European Union and France, and building upon the support provided to Yemen in various fields. He praised the European positions supporting the government and the peace process based on the three agreed-upon references, which ensures the complete restoration of state institutions and the end of the Iranian-backed Houthi coup.
For their part, the Head of the European Union Delegation and the French Ambassador reiterated their full support for the Yemeni government and their commitment to continued coordination and partnership with the government across various sectors. They also commended the government's reform efforts and expressed their support for ongoing initiatives in this area.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, Dr. Ali Atboush, and the Head of the European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdulmalik Al-Shabibi.
