The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, met today in Aden with representatives of the Al-Sabeel Foundation for Social Development to discuss ways to coordinate humanitarian and development efforts in line with priority needs across various sectors.
During the meeting, the Foundation presented several programs and projects in the areas of food security, cash assistance, water and sanitation, health, protection, and education. The presentation also covered the Foundation's geographical scope of interventions, the number of beneficiaries, and its relationships with local and international partners and donors.
Minister Al-Yafei emphasized the importance of directing humanitarian and development interventions toward the actual needs of the community, ensuring sustainability, integrating efforts among various stakeholders, and avoiding duplication of projects. He stressed the need to align programs with government policies and the priorities of the most vulnerable groups.
His Excellency the Minister noted the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the efficiency of humanitarian work by regulating its relationship with active organizations and providing them with the necessary support to enable them to implement their programs effectively and efficiently. He emphasized that partnership with civil society organizations is a fundamental pillar in improving the level of humanitarian and development response and maximizing the impact of interventions on the ground.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Abubakr bin Brik, expressed the Foundation's appreciation for the Ministry's efforts in facilitating the work of organizations, affirming their commitment to continuing to implement their projects according to humanitarian priorities and in ongoing coordination with government agencies. This will contribute to expanding the scope of beneficiaries and improving the services provided to the targeted groups.
