His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Mr. Mohsen Haidera Al-Amri, inspected operations at Aden International Airport today to assess operational performance, the readiness of the airport's various facilities, and the services provided to passengers.
The Minister received a detailed briefing from the Director General of Aden International Airport, Mr. Haitham Jaber, on daily operations, flight scheduling mechanisms, procedures for facilitating passenger flow, and the main challenges and difficulties facing the airport's management and staff.
Minister Al-Amri also chaired an expanded meeting with the Deputy Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Engineer Mohammed Nasser, along with other Authority leaders and airport staff, to discuss administrative and technical performance and review development plans aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing the quality of services provided, in line with international standards in the civil aviation sector.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transport issued several observations and directives regarding the organization and coordination of all entities operating at the airport, including those seconded to the airport, to streamline procedures in the departure and arrival halls and enhance employee discipline.
The Minister highlighted the government's program priorities and its efforts to stabilize and improve the overall situation in the country. He explained that the Ministry bears a significant responsibility in this regard and is working to address existing issues and challenges, exerting maximum effort to achieve a tangible positive impact on citizens' lives and transportation services.
Minister Al-Amri emphasized the need to develop practical and implementable strategic visions and plans that directly translate into practical action. He stressed the importance of developing and modernizing the infrastructure of Aden International Airport and all airports in the liberated governorates, whether through expansion projects or the construction of new airports. He clarified that the Ministry is currently working to address the issue of the future location of Aden Airport and to develop appropriate solutions and alternatives to compensate those affected, ensuring the optimal use of the airport's land.
He reviewed the steps related to the financial and administrative reform program adopted by the government and its impact on enhancing the efficiency of state institutions and achieving sustainability. He emphasized the importance of the ministry's sectors benefiting from these reforms and strengthening partnership and coordination with the private sector to implement quality projects that contribute to the development of the transport sector.
The Minister of Transport affirmed that the ministry is proceeding with the implementation of its plans and programs and achieving tangible results with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and with the assistance of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For his part, the Director General of Aden International Airport indicated that this visit constitutes an important incentive to redouble efforts and exert more effort to raise the level of performance and improve the quality of services provided to passengers, which contributes to enhancing operational efficiency and developing the airport's infrastructure. He explained that the airport administration, with the support of the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority, is continuing to implement development plans to modernize the airport's operations, which will enhance Aden International Airport's position as a vital facility and a main gateway to the country.
The meeting addressed a number of observations, challenges and difficulties facing airport workers, and proposals and solutions to overcome them in order to raise performance efficiency and improve the level of services provided to travelers.
