Presidential Leadership Council Member and Governor of Hadramawt, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, met today in Al-Mukalla with the Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Captain Saleh Salim Bin Nahid, to discuss the general situation of the civil aviation sector and the efforts being made to develop air navigation services and enhance airport infrastructure in the governorate.
The meeting addressed the conditions of Al-Rayyan International Airport in Al-Mukalla and Seiyun International Airport, and the level of services provided at both. They also discussed several issues related to developing airport infrastructure and modernizing navigation and technical systems to improve operational efficiency, raise the level of air safety, and boost air traffic.
The Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology reviewed a number of plans and programs that the Authority is working to implement to develop the aviation sector. These include modernizing air navigation systems and improving technical equipment at airports to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of civil aviation and enhance the airports' capacity to accommodate the growing air traffic.
The Governor of Hadramawt, a member of the Leadership Council, emphasized the importance of developing airport infrastructure in Hadramawt, considering them vital gateways to the governorate that contribute to stimulating economic, commercial, and tourism activity. He stressed the need to strengthen coordination between the local authority and the General Authority of Civil Aviation to improve services provided to passengers and facilitate air transport to and from Hadramawt.
The Governor also noted the local authority's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at developing Al-Rayyan and Seiyun airports and working to overcome obstacles hindering their operation, thereby enhancing their vital role in serving the people of Hadramawt and travelers using them.
