In a statement to the media, the Presidential Leadership Council member affirmed that the resumption of international flights directly contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens and facilitating their travel. He commended the efforts of the airport security forces and their vigilance in protecting the airport terminals and essential equipment, which contributed to the completion of preparations and the reopening of the airport according to approved standards.
Al-Khanbashi also praised the efforts of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology and the management of Al-Rayyan International Airport in expediting the preparation and reactivation process. He further commended the role of the Homeland Shield Forces in securing the airport upon their arrival, which enhanced operational stability during the challenging circumstances the governorate has faced.
For his part, Captain Saleh bin Nahid, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, explained the importance of Al Rayyan International Airport as one of the most important airports in the country, given its humanitarian, service, and economic significance. He cited its vital location and its service to a wide segment of the population, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to developing the airport and training its staff to enhance their efficiency and achieve high professional standards that meet the requirements of modern operations and air safety.
Engineer Anis Baswaitin, Director General of Al Rayyan International Airport and a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, briefed the airport's management on the most significant completed renovations and the technical and security safety standards that have been met, ensuring the airport's readiness for operation and the resumption of flights to and from the airport.
