Socotra Governor Visits Marketing Bazaar for Products of Beneficiaries of the Vocational Empowerment Program, Supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center

The Governor of the Socotra Archipelago, Engineer Raafat Ali Al-Thaqali, visited today the marketing bazaar showcasing products made by beneficiaries of the vocational empowerment program in the governorate. The program is funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and implemented through the Al-Khair Coalition for Humanitarian Action.
During the visit, Governor Al-Thaqali praised the efforts of the organizers, commending the program's role in enhancing women's participation in economic activity and empowering them to become self-reliant and improve their income sources, especially given the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.
The Governor emphasized that such programs are an important step towards opening new economic horizons for women, encouraging them to establish sustainable small businesses capable of competing in local markets and supporting the stability of their families.
For their part, the beneficiaries, in a collective statement, expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for its ongoing support, which enabled them to acquire professional skills and transform them into income-generating projects that contribute to improving their economic and social conditions.
The bazaar features a variety of products made by 85 beneficiaries of the training courses offered within the program. These courses included food processing, incense making, sewing, fishing net weaving, as well as workshops on mobile phone repair and programming, and photography. The participants showcased examples of their newly acquired skills, which have contributed to increasing their productivity and strengthening their presence in the local labor market.
