The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for Services and Activities, Mr. Hussein Al-Sakab, received the Dream Exploration Team from the sisterly Sultanate of Oman on Monday in the interim capital, Aden. The team is part of a tour to explore several Yemeni regions.
The Undersecretary welcomed the team on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Muammar bin Mutahhar Al-Eryani, emphasizing the Ministry's keenness to welcome all tourists, researchers, and interested parties wishing to visit Yemen, and its readiness to provide the necessary facilities, especially regarding entry procedures through land ports.
Al-Sakab explained that His Excellency the Minister always directs the Ministry's leadership to follow up with the relevant authorities to overcome the difficulties facing travelers and tourist convoys, considering them guests in their second home, Yemen.
During the meeting, discussions were held on preparing a tourism program for the team for the upcoming period, which includes visits to a number of prominent Yemeni destinations, including Aden, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Marib, Taiz, and Socotra. This program aims to support efforts to promote tourism and promote the country's diverse resources.
The Omani team entered Yemen through the Sarfit border crossing on September 17th, marking the final stop on its regional tour that included several countries.
The team arrived in the interim capital, Aden, in coordination with the Director of the Tourism Office in Khormaksar District, Mr. Wathiq Al-Hayal, who accompanied them on a tour that included several of the governorate's most prominent landmarks, including the Tawila Cisterns, the Abyan Coast, and the Lovers' Coast.
The team includes Salem bin Saeed Al-Shuaili, Nasser bin Khalid Al-Salmi, and Dr. and journalist Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Rubaie, who expressed their great happiness at visiting Yemen, appreciating the warm welcome and generous hospitality they experienced in various regions.
The team members noted that the security stability and natural and cultural diversity they witnessed reflects a different image than that promoted by some media outlets, emphasizing that Yemen is a promising and safe destination for tourism and exploration.
The team also visited a training course organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism in partnership with the Tourism Promotion Board, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Muammar bin Mutahhar Al-Eryani. The course, which specializes in tour guiding, was held at the Rotana Hotel on the Abyan coast.
This visit is part of the Ministry of Tourism's efforts to revitalize the tourism sector and open new horizons for promoting Yemen as a unique tourist destination rich in cultural heritage and environmental diversity.
The meeting was attended by Adel Al-Hawshbi, Director General of the Tourism Office in Aden; Wathiq Al-Hayal, Director of the Tourism Office in Khormaksar District; Ali Qasim, Director of the Tourism Office in Mansoura; Moeen Al-Sayyadi, Director of the Tourism Promotion and Marketing Department at the Tourism Promotion Board; and Nasser bin Shamlan, Coordinator of the "Dreams" Team.
