The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, in partnership with the Tourism Promotion Board, launched a training course in the art of tour guiding on Sunday in the interim capital, Aden, with 28 trainees participating.
The course was opened by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for the Services and Activities Sector, Mr. Hussein Al-Sakab, in a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Muammar bin Mutahhar Al-Eryani. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to investing in human capital and improving the quality of tourism work in line with the best international practices.
Al-Sakab explained that this course is part of a series of specialized programs aimed at developing the skills of tour guides and enabling them to perform their vital role in presenting the nation's image in its best light.
He pointed out that tour guiding is not limited to merely conveying information; it is an art, a dialogue, and a cultural message that reflects Yemen's history, culture, and authentic identity.
He added, "We hope this course will serve as a platform for learning, exchange, and development, enhancing the status of Yemeni tourism."
He pointed out that the support and attention given by His Excellency the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Al-Eryani, to the tourism sector, through the rehabilitation of tourism personnel through specialized courses, is part of the Ministry's comprehensive plan aimed at restoring our country's unique cultural and tourism status as one of the pillars of the national economy. This is part of the economic reform plan led by Prime Minister Salem bin Braik.
The course will be held on September 21 and 22, coinciding with World Tourism Day events.
