10 Sep 2025 - 10:16 PM

Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, paid an inspection visit to the Jameel Ghanem Institute of Fine Arts in the interim capital, Aden, on Wednesday. He reviewed the progress of work in its various departments.

Al-Eryani conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, his fellow members of the Council, and Prime Minister Salem bin Braik to the institute's staff and expressed their support for its efforts to develop theater, music, and visual arts, and to provide the arts scene with qualified personnel.

Minister Al-Eryani emphasized the important role of culture and the arts in confronting the Iranian regime's clerical ideology, as well as in empowering and equipping young people with knowledge and skills, and in promoting them into the labor market so they do not remain prey to terrorist groups.

He praised the efforts of the institute's administration and teaching staff to restore the prestige of this important educational and artistic institution, despite its limited resources. He expressed his admiration for the role played by the institute's staff in organizing specialized courses for young creatives. During the visit, Al-Eryani met with ninety male and female students sponsored by the Ministry of Defense to study military music at the institute for two years. He listened to a brief overview of the musical skills and arts they are learning at the institute, wishing them success and praising the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister also visited institute employees participating in a training course on project management, identifying needs, and improving performance. The Minister listened to a detailed explanation of these training courses, which began on August 5 and will continue until September 16, 2025. The aim is to develop the skills of institute employees in the context of their work and enhance their ability to manage projects and identify needs effectively.

The Minister appreciated the support provided by the friendly French government, the Aleph Organization, and the Supernova Organization for this training course, which contributes to enhancing the capabilities of workers at this artistic landmark, as supporting the administrative staff is no less important than restoring the buildings.

The Minister was accompanied during the visit by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 14 October Foundation for Press, Printing, and Publishing, Mohammed Bashrahil; Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Culture, Mohammed Al-Shaabi and Najib Thabet; Director of the Institute, Fouad Muqbil; and Director General of Arts at the Ministry, Suad Al-Junaid.
