Al-Eryani chairs a meeting of the Tourism Classification Committee in Aden and approves the final hotel results.

Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism and Chairman of the Tourism Promotion Board of Directors, Muammar Al-Eryani, chaired an expanded meeting today, Tuesday, in the interim capital, Aden, with members of the Tourism Classification Committee in Aden Governorate, to discuss and review the final report on the classification of hotel and tourism facilities in the governorate.

Al-Eryani emphasized that the classification represents a new beginning toward organizing and developing the tourism sector in Aden, ensuring the advancement of hotel and tourism services and attracting tourists and visitors from within and outside the country. He noted that the ministry will continue the evaluation process on a regular basis to ensure continued development and adherence to standards.

The Minister directed that a meeting be arranged to distribute official hotel classification certificates to hotels that met the classification requirements and standards, stressing that each hotel received the classification it deserved, without any favoritism or favoritism.

Minister Al-Eryani commended the efforts of the local authorities in Aden Governorate, led by Minister of State and Governor of Aden Ahmed Lamlas, and the main committee formed by the Ministry, the Tourism Promotion Council, the local authorities in the governorate, and field committees in the operating directorates, in accomplishing this national mission. He called on all investors and hotel owners to continue improving their services to contribute to strengthening Aden's position as a promising tourist destination.

Al-Eryani listened to a detailed explanation from the committee about the mechanism for conducting field visits to various hotels and the evaluation criteria that were adhered to with rigorous transparency. He emphasized that the classification process is part of improving the quality of tourism services and raising the level of competitiveness among establishments to meet approved standards.

The classification results showed that only one hotel in Aden Governorate received a four-star plus rating, while the rest of the hotels were distributed among different classifications. Three hotels received three stars, eighteen hotels received three stars, forty-five hotels received two stars, fifty-three hotels received one star, while 10 establishments were rated as popular hotels.

The report came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is sending letters to the relevant authorities, in cooperation with the tourism offices in the governorates, not to grant any license to any hotel facility unless the tourism office in the governorate approves and provides them with a copy of the classification regulations. It also includes informing the tourism offices in the governorates to intensify monitoring and follow-up of tourism facilities on a regular basis to improve the quality of services provided, spreading tourism awareness and education among the owners, managers and employees of these facilities, and also training workers in tourism facilities.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 14th October Foundation for Press, Printing and Publishing, Mohammed Bashrahil, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Tourism, Jaafar Abu Bakr, Hussein Al-Sakab, and Obaid Mohammed Al-Hazaa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Abdul-Basit Al-Qaedi, the Executive Director of the Tourism Promotion Council, Intisar Al-Haddali, the Undersecretary of Aden Governorate, Mohammed Salem, and the Director of the Tourism Office in Aden, Adel Fadl.
