The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) announced the registration of the Aden cisterns on the organization's Arab Heritage Register.
The Secretary-General of the Yemeni Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Dr. Hafiza Al-Sheikh, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this came during the tenth meeting of the Observatory of Architectural and Urban Heritage in Arab Countries, which was held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, during the period from July 28 to 30, 2028 AD.
She pointed out that this achievement is the result of cooperation between the Yemeni Committee for Education, Culture and Science, the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums, and the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities - Aden Branch . She stressed the need to provide support for registering other files on the World and Arab Heritage Lists, given the rich historical sites our country boasts bearing the imprints of our forefathers.
