The Director General of the Ministry of Culture Office in Hadhramout Coast, Mr. Ammar Batweel, visited the Hadhramout Foundation for Heritage, History and Culture in Mukalla, where he was received by the Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Khaled Madrak.
During the visit, the Director General toured the various departments of the Foundation and listened to a detailed explanation from its Chairman about the significant role the Foundation plays in serving Hadhramout's heritage, history, civilization, and cultural identity, through the heritage, historical, and cultural events and activities it implements, and through the documents, photos, books, magazines, and knowledge sources it houses that document various aspects of the rich Hadhrami heritage.
He was also briefed on the Foundation's efforts in collecting, preserving, and documenting Hadhrami heritage, and raising awareness of its importance among generations, in addition to its contributions to disseminating general culture and making sources of knowledge available to researchers, scholars, and those interested in the history and heritage of Hadhramout, making it a prominent cultural and knowledge landmark and a destination for those interested in Hadhrami heritage from inside and outside the governorate.
During the visit, Mr. Ammar Batweel expressed his happiness and pride in the rich historical and cultural heritage he saw at the Foundation, praising its leading role in preserving Hadhrami heritage and safeguarding historical memory.
Batweel appreciated the great and continuous efforts in organizing cultural and heritage events and activities, and in collecting and preserving photos, documents, books, magazines, and historical collectibles that represent important evidence of Hadhramout's history and civilization, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Culture Office and the Foundation in a way that contributes to supporting cultural work, preserving Hadhrami heritage, and highlighting its historical and civilizational status for future generations.
