As part of efforts by the Ministry of Tourism Office in Hadhramaut Coast to highlight the civilizational and historical heritage of the governorate, a group of tour guides affiliated with the office accompanied the American delegation participating in the medical mission on an introductory tour covering the most prominent archaeological landmarks in the governorate's capital, the city of Mukalla.
The field tour program included a visit to the old neighborhoods of Mukalla, where members of the mission toured its alleys and learned about the unique traditional architectural style and the popular markets that reflect the authenticity and heritage of Hadhramaut.
The tour also included a visit to the historic Al-Ghweizi Fort, which is considered one of the most important architectural symbols in the governorate, where the delegation received a comprehensive briefing from the guides about the fort's history and significance, in addition to visiting a number of sites and scenic views overlooking Mukalla's coastal strip.
Members of the American medical mission expressed their great admiration for the historical landmarks they saw, praising the warm reception and the efficiency of the tour guides in presenting a comprehensive and bright picture of the history and present of Mukalla.
