Chaired by the Minister of Culture and Tourism and Council President, Eng. Mutie Dammaj, the Tourism Promotion Council reviewed its plans and activities for the upcoming phase. The key points included:

- Preparing training programs for tourism agencies and tour guides, and supporting ecotourism.

- Updating the electronic platform and enhancing digital media to promote Yemen’s cities, landmarks, and tourism and cultural heritage.
- Reviewing the future plans of the Tourism Promotion Council for the coming phase.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism and President of the Tourism Promotion Council, Eng. Mutie Dammaj, chaired a meeting yesterday in the temporary capital Aden to discuss the Council’s plans and activities for the upcoming phase, and efforts to develop a tourism and cultural strategy in our country with support from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The meeting, which included members of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Promotion Council and representatives of several government agencies and the private sector, reviewed the minutes of the Council’s previous meeting and the implemented decisions, particularly those related to tourism promotion priorities. It also reviewed the progress report, the Council’s estimated budget for 2026, and efforts to reorganize financial aspects.
The meeting stressed the need to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between the Promotion Council and the Arab Tourism Organization to work on developing tourism in our country. It also highlighted the importance of opening a regular air route to Socotra, and the importance of preparing a comprehensive training program for tourism agencies and tour guides, and supporting ecotourism.
Minister Dammaj emphasized the importance of doubling everyone’s efforts to enhance the tasks and activities of the Tourism Promotion Council in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in the country, and to strengthen institutional work and regular periodic Council meetings during the coming period. He stressed the need for integrated work by the country’s leadership toward a real change in tourism aspects and upgrading tourism infrastructure in Socotra and other cities.
He noted the formation of a scientific team comprising specialists and academics to develop tourism guidebooks and the Council’s electronic platform to showcase the city of Aden and other Yemeni cities in a comprehensive manner and present them to the world in their best image. He also reviewed the future plans of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Council for the upcoming phase.
