Aden — The Director General of the Tourism Office in the capital Aden, Eng. Kutbi Omar Kutbi, met with the Director General of Al-Buraiqa District, Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Dawoodi, to discuss the current situation of the tourism sector in the district and the appropriate mechanisms to develop it and enhance its role in supporting local development and boosting economic activity.
The meeting, held at the Al-Buraiqa Local Authority building, reviewed the performance of the Tourism Office in the district, its role in monitoring and regulating tourism establishments, licensing procedures, and the mechanism for collecting tourism fees and revenues in accordance with applicable regulations.
The discussion also covered the importance of utilizing the tourism assets and coastal sites that Al-Buraiqa is known for, as one of Aden’s most prominent tourist and seaside destinations. Both sides emphasized the need to implement programs and activities that help revitalize tourism and improve the quality of services provided to visitors.
Eng. Kutbi Omar Kutbi affirmed the Tourism Office’s commitment in Aden to support the office in Al-Buraiqa and to address the challenges facing its work, in coordination with the local authority, to improve performance and achieve tangible results on the ground.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Dawoodi confirmed the local authority’s readiness to provide support to the Tourism Office and enable it to carry out its duties effectively.
The meeting stressed the importance of strengthening partnership and cooperation with the private sector, developing tourism facilities and services, while safeguarding the rights of citizens and investors, and presenting Al-Buraiqa in a way that reflects its tourism stature.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Shaima Abdo, Director of Tourism Activities at the Aden Tourism Office, and Ms. Anhar Khamis, Director of the Tourism Office in Al-Buraiqa District.
