Culture Office in Hadhramaut Coast Organizes Sculpture Workshop

The Office of the Ministry of Culture in Hadhramaut Coast Holds a Sculpture and Artistic Dough Modeling Workshop



Under the generous patronage of the Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, the Office of the Ministry of Culture in Hadhramaut Coast organized a Sculpture and Artistic Dough Modeling Workshop as part of the cultural events accompanying the Al-Balda Tourism Season Festival 2026. The workshop saw participation from several painters, visual artists, amateurs, and those interested in the visual arts.


The workshop aims to develop participants abilities and equip them with the basic skills in artistic dough modeling. It also seeks to provide a platform for artists and amateurs to discover and refine their talents, thereby contributing to the development of the art scene and fostering creativity among youth.


During the workshop, Ms. Abeer Mohammed Al-Hadhrami, Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut for Women’s Affairs and Director General of the Ministry of Culture Office in Hadhramaut Coast, stated that this workshop is part of the cultural and artistic program prepared by the office for the Al-Balda Tourism Season. She noted that it aims to highlight one of the distinctive forms of visual art, embrace artistic talents, and provide a suitable environment for developing their skills.


She added that the Ministry of Culture Office places great importance on implementing training and capacity-building programs that help develop the skills of artists and amateurs, and introduce them to modern visual arts techniques and methods, thereby enhancing their presence and creativity in the cultural and artistic scene.


Visual artist Shaima Baabeir led the session, introducing participants to the concept of visual art and the fundamentals of sculpture and artistic dough modeling. She covered how to work with ceramic dough, modeling techniques, and how to produce sculptures and artworks. She also explained drying and coloring methods, and provided practical guidance, tips, and common mistakes to avoid during the process.


Participants expressed their happiness with holding such specialized workshops, emphasizing that they represent an important opportunity to develop their artistic skills and gain new knowledge in dough modeling. They praised the Ministry of Culture Office’s interest in organizing such programs that contribute to discovering and nurturing talent, and expressed their hope to see more of these quality courses in the Future.
